It's official, Jack Ellis is a future Griffin! Worthington Kilbourne Senior Jack Ellis signed his official college letter of intent to play lacrosse at Seton Hill University near Pittsburgh, PA. Ellis inked his commitment during a ceremony in the WKHS library surrounded by teammates, many coaches past and present and of course his family members.
Ellis will be a 3 year letterman in lacrosse for the Wolves and has been a consistent offensive threat and leader for his team. During summers, he also played club lacrosse for Resolute. Beyond lacrosse, Ellis played varsity football for Kilbourne.
Off the field, Ellis has been active in many volunteer efforts including "Wolves For Cubs", "Man-Up" volunteer program and has been part of the athletic leadership group.
During the ceremony, Kilbourne Lacrosse Interim Head Coach, Mike Riffee said, "You are a teacher's and a coach's ideal student-athlete. You are a student in the classroom of life and the game of lacrosse. You work incredibly hard in all that you do. And, you do it all without the need to be in the spotlight."
During his comments, Ellis thanked all the people that have helped him grow to this point to be able to have this opportunity. He added, "I'm excited for my senior season and then can't wait to be a Griffin."
As of this publication, the Seton Hill Griffins are currently ranked #3 in Division II. Jack will play midfield for the Griffins.
Jack was joined at the ceremony by his mom Amy and his dad Jay. All of his siblings were also on hand including his sister Emma Skura and her husband Matt, as well as Jack's sisters Grace and Avery.
Congrats to Jack and his family. Good luck Jack!
Go Wolves -- and Griffins!
