Wolves Wrap Season 17-5 Record Overall

Worthington Kilbourne v. Upper Arlington -- OHSAA Regional Final -- May 24, 2019

Worthington Kilbourne lost to Upper Arlington by the score of 7-13 in the OHSAA Regional Final Friday night (5/24) in a contest played at Westerville Central High School.  The loss concludes another overall strong season for Kilbourne who finished with an overall record of  17-5 and OHSAA Regional Runner-up.

In the game, Kilbourne jumped out to an early lead scoring the first 3 goals and leading 3-1 at the end of the first quarter.  However, Upper Arlington bounced back with a strong second quarter scoring 6 goals to go ahead at halftime 7-5.  Throughout the game UA really asserted itself in the possession battle, winning face offs and controlling ground balls for extra possessions.  UA capitalized on the extra chances with the ball and built a lead over the Wolves.

Although the game was largely decided by the fourth quarter, the Wolves rallied with 2 goals in the final stanza to always compete until the end.

Kilbourne has a lot to be proud of in its 2019 season under Interim Head Coach (and longtime coach in the program) Mike Riffee and Assistant Head Coach Brian Miller who lead the Wolves this year.   Our thanks to all the coaches for your time and effort.   Special recognition to the newly graduated seniors who played their final game for Kilbourne.  Thanks from the entire program for all your contributions and best of luck in your bright future.

GO WOLVES!
